These stats compare August 2025, on FieldRoutes, with August 2026, Able’s first full month on Solea: 1,340 appointments against 1,343.

Before Solea

Five vendors to run one office.

John Baraquio founded Able in 2000 and has been through every kind of pest software since: paper, CDs, then two CRMs that promised more than they delivered. The most recent was FieldRoutes.

Scheduling, route optimization, payments and collections each came from a different company, five in all. Drive time hovered around 22 minutes per stop for 18 months straight.

John had spent five years trying to bring AI into the business, and every AI vendor he tried was “a nightmare.” Switching wasn’t an easy way out either: each past migration had taken six months to a year.

The switch

Off FieldRoutes in three days, not a year.

Able signed with Solea in late May 2026 and went live on July 27. Moving the data was the fast part. The rest of the runway went to payments and people, and it ran on Able’s schedule.

“The last couple times I did a switch over CRMs, it took between 6 months to a year. In 3 days they said, “We’re done.””

  1. Days 1 to 3Data straight from FieldRoutes

Solea connected to Able’s FieldRoutes account through its API. Nobody had to request a backup or export a spreadsheet. Customers, properties, subscriptions, contracts and service history came across, and Solea checked every import against Able’s live FieldRoutes data. The team had told John it would take a week. It took three days.

“Sure enough, in 3 days they said, “We’re done.” That was something I’ve never experienced before.”John Baraquio
  2. Until launchFieldRoutes kept running

Able ran its business in FieldRoutes right up to go-live. Solea kept re-syncing in the background so the data never went stale, and a final sync ran the morning of launch. The office never had to freeze bookings or re-type customer records.

  3. Over ~30 daysCards moved to Stripe without a billing gap

Stored cards moved from Able’s old payment processor to Stripe, which takes about 30 days because the old processor has to send them over. Able kept charging customers as usual the whole time. Rather than rush it, Solea moved go-live back three weeks, from July 6 to July 27, so every card was in place on day one.

  4. From JuneTraining, one role at a time

Training started online in June, split by role: office staff, schedulers, sales and billing. Each session ended with homework in a test account: create a customer, add a card, book the first service. Before launch, both teams checked the imported data and the first two weeks of appointments together, then made the go/no-go call.

  5. July 27Go-live

The day before launch, Solea built Able’s routes for the next 30 days in one run: nearly 1,000 appointments across 174 technician shifts. On Monday morning the final sync ran, everyone logged in, and the trucks went out on Solea routes. Then Able switched FieldRoutes off.

  6. The first weeksDaily check-ins

Solea checked in with Able’s office every day for the first week, then twice a week. The team stayed reachable in person, by text and by email, for everyone from technicians and sales to the office staff and John himself.

“Very easy to get a hold of and very knowledgeable. Sharp, smart cats.”John Baraquio

What changed

Two parts of the office started running themselves.

Scheduling and collections moved into the same system as the customer record, so the office stopped stitching five vendors together.

AI scheduling

Jobs drop into routes on their own, built around drive time instead of a dispatcher’s sequence. When a job moves, the route recalculates automatically. Compared with August 2025 on FieldRoutes:

“Solea has definitely cut costs, increased productivity, and decreased the time that we’ve been spending on certain tasks.”John Baraquio

AI accounts receivable

Invoices and follow-ups live in the same system as the schedule. Past-due reminders go out on their own: at 30 days, then weekly until 60 days, then every three days by email and weekly by text. Customers can now pay by ACH as well as by card.

“Now we can focus more on the human aspect of it rather than spend so much time doing scheduling or routing or making collections.”John Baraquio
“Our production numbers have gone up, and our travel time has come down. It has definitely increased not only our productivity, but also our morale.”
